Jacque Reid talks the controversy around mothers naturally feeding their babies in public and the initiative about Black Breastfeeding Week with Kimberly Seals-Allers, a consultant on motherhood and breastfeeding issues.
So why all the outcry about a woman feeding their child?
“Breastfeeding is a very personal and private issues. Breasts are oversexualized. They’re used to sell chicken and beer so it offends some people,” Allers says.
